Engagement: Courtney & Bret

Courtney and Bret are getting married next year in Ponte Vedra Beach. We got together for their Engagement shoot while they were in town visiting Courtney’s parents and making some final plans for their wedding.

They currently live in Baltimore and while it’s a cool city, it doesn’t have a beach, which always makes Courtney homesick.

I’m really looking forward to this wedding in 2009. They’re a fun, beautiful couple and Bret is the nicest former linebacker I’ve ever met!

Event: Grand Opening at Bella Bridesmaid

I just wanted to note that Ashley from Bella Bridesmaid in San Marco is having her official Grand Opening party on October 23rd. Thanks, Ashley, for helping with my most recent project!

In Brides Magazine

I want to congratulate confectioner Jaycel Adkins of Etiquette of Chocolate for having his incredible work featured in Brides Florida magazine.

Here is a larger picture of that luxurious cake that I shot for him a few months ago.

Engagement: Lauren & Jeff

Lauren and Jeff are getting married next year but were in town to do an engagement shoot at the beach over Labor Day weekend.

It was a busy, gray, and windy day at the beach so I found a quiet and much sunnier spot a few blocks away.

Wedding: Arjola & Peter

Jacksonville, FL
Ceremony: St. Johns Cathedral
Reception: Cummer Museum of Art and Gardens
Makeup: Kimtasha K. Armstrong
Cake: Etiquette of Chocolate
Catering: Matthew’s Market & Catering
Flowers: Glenn Certain Studio

Peter, Arjola and I go way back. I first met them when I photographed Peter’s sister’s wedding back in 2004. I distinctly remember them dancing together and they were so cute and looked so in love.

I saw them again when I photographed Ansley & Jim’s wedding in 2006. Arjola was one of the bridemaids in the wedding. When I saw them at the reception together they were such a loving and affectionate couple I told them jokingly ” Call me when they were ready.”

Then they actually did!

I was so excited when Arjola called me to tell me they were ready to get married on 8/8/08 and wanted me to be their photographer.

After the ceremony at the St. Johns Cathedral downtown we headed to the Cummer Art Museum. While we were taking pictures in the garden it started to rain, however the rain didn’t stop us and we took the opportunity to shoot inside one of the galleries. I think we really captured Arjola’s and Peter’s elegance and love for each other.
