Etiquette of Chocolate

I usually post my non-wedding work on my commercial website (Pose Well Studios), but I thought this would be great to post here for any future brides looking for really elegant cakes and favors.

Jaycel and Judy own the Etiquette of Chocolate, a confectionary house in Orange Park. I had the opportunity to photograph their amazing wedding cakes and delicious chocolates for their new website and promotional package.

Their cakes are beautiful and would make a great statement of style at any wedding or event, but I have to say that their bon-bons are to die for!

When Jaycel brought the cakes over my studio smelled heavenly. This was a great assignment because I got to eat the chocolates and a few slices of cake after I was done photographing everything…

The Knot Best of Weddings 2008 - Editor’s Pick!

Best Of Pick

The other day I received a copy of The Knot Best of Weddings issue in the mail. I was wondering why they would send me a copy because I was not expecting to be on the list.

To my surprise I was chosen as the Editor’s Pick for Northeast Florida in The Knot’s Best of Weddings 2008 issue. This means that the actual editors of the magazine chose me as the top photographer in the Northeast Florida region!

I am so honored and flattered because I know they go through thousands of wedding pictures and have seen work from some amazing photographers.

Thanks again to all of my clients for trusting me to photograph their important day and The Knot Magazine for the wonderful compliment.

Brides Magazine contest

I submitted one of my photos from an exit in a contest for Brides magazine that featured WPJA photographer entries. The picture below placed seventh out of hundreds of entries by very respected and talented wedding photographers in the Send-Off/Departure category.

Judges’ Comments: You can almost feel the “splat” in this fantastically tactile photo. This is perfect timing on this humorous send-off.

The picture came from Megghan and Chris’ wedding in 2006 and was previously featured on this blog in a post entitled “A Dangerous Exit

Wedding: Lisa and John

Ceremony: The Oldest House, St. Augustine

Reception: The Casa Monica Hotel, St. Augustine

Lisa and John had a tearful outdoor ceremony at St. Augustine’s Oldest House Museum.

And even though the red tide had everyone coughing the tears were real!

Video: Day After Shoot

A while back I shot a promo video for my website and it’s finally ready.

You may recognize the couple, Melissa and Sebastian, from an engagement shoot I did in November. Yes, they are a real couple — I know they look like models but they are real!

They were married on a cruise several months ago and I was not able to shoot their wedding, but thought it would be fun to do a “Day After Session”.

It wasn’t actually the day after their wedding, but thats what we call it. If you’re a bride I think you should really consider a “Day After Session” because it gives you another reason to wear your dress again and we are able to take our time and create some really awesome shots that you usually don’t have the time for on your wedding day.

I had such a blast putting the video together. Even though it rained horribly all day we were still able to get some killer shots.

Jenny from Turner Classic Weddings did the video. She worked so hard and I couldn’t believe how dedicated she was to get the shots — even during the pouring rain. Thanks so much to Victoria Boyles from Salon d’Orsay, who did an amazing job on the hair. And of course, thanks go to my right hand woman Jackie Neal for doing such flawless make up.

Here are some images from the shoot but if you want to see more check out the video at the end of this post!

Agnes Lopez Promo Shoot (Bridal)

Announcing: Pose Well Studios

While it’s not a new venture for me I wanted to give my modeling and corporate photography its own portfolio.

I’m proud to announce my new site: Pose Well Studios.

POSE WELL - Jacksonville Fashion Photography, Headshots, Comp Cards, and Commercial Images by Agnes Lopez Photography

This site features my photographs of models, actors, musicians, businesspeople, and other personalities who come to me for headshots, comp cards, and advertisements. Over the past couple years I’ve photographed hundreds of models and actors, some just starting out and others who went on to work overseas and in television. I’ve also produced images for corporate annual reports and advertisements.

There just wasn’t enough room on my wedding photography blog to showcase all of the work I do during the week, in between weddings! So be sure to bookmark the Pose Well site and blog and contact me for headshots, comps, and promo images if you’re in the Northeast Florida region.

The New Agnes Lopez Photography!

It’s finally here!

As you can see I have a brand new logo and have updated my website with an all-new set of images for the front page.

And my new tag line:

Agnes Lopez Photography - Love & Luxury

A little while back I put together a shoot to replace the front of my website and here are some outtakes and shots that I didn’t choose for the front of the site — but still really liked anyway!

If you’re a regular reader of my blog you may remember the model, Kelsey. I shot her comp card and she was one of the models that took advantage of the location shoot. I was so impressed by her and I knew she would be perfect model for launching my brand new site!

Victoria Boyles from Salon d’Orsay did the killer hair and (as always) Jackie Neal did an awesome job with the make up.

Engagement Shoot: Abi & Joseph

Abi and Joseph definitely did not want the typical engagement shoot! I was so excited when Abi came to me about her engagement shoot and pulled out pictures from fashion magazines and music videos. They were such a cool couple with so much style.

Simply Cinematic put together a wedding website for them and I think they did an incredible job. It looks like a movie trailer website. Here is a screenshot of the site: www.abijoe.com

I can’t wait for this wedding!

Wedding: Liz & Rob

Ceremony & Reception: Rob’s parents’ home Vilano Beach, FL
Other pictures: Castle Otttis.

Liz and Rob were married on the beach right at the bottom of the steps to Rob’s parents’ home in Vilano Beach, FL. After the ceremony we went over to Castle Otttis (yes, three Ts) and took some more photographs.
